Middletown, NJ (Monday, March 12, 2012) – Chris Mulvaney, Founder of Middletown based CMDS has been invited by Monmouth University to become a member of the Communication Council, an advisory organization that works with the Department of Communication in pursuit of common goals.

The Council makes a connection for faculty and students in the department with working professionals in the field of communication. They meet once a month to discuss how to better the communication field. One of Mulvaney’s first endeavors will be to work with the Council to prepare for the 2012 Roast of MU’s President Paul Gaffney.

“We’re delighted that Chris accepted our invitation to join the Council,” said Chad Dell, Chair, Department of Communication. “Chris is not only a graduate of MU, he is now an award-winning designer and online marketing strategist with an extensive professional background in working with some of the world’s best-known brands. His knowledge and industry background make him a tremendous asset to the Council.”

Mulvaney will join a noted team of working professionals in the field of communication and related areas. Current Council members include David Wilson of Bloomberg News, Maiya Furgason of Wells Fargo Advisors, Jim Hickey of ABC Radio News, Maureen Bay of Gem of an Idea, Lucille Maddalena of MT Management, Pat Scanlon of Shamrock Communications, Ann Willets of Utopia Communications, Mark Beal of Taylor PR, Steven Cody of Peppercom Strategic Communications, actor Frank Dicopoulos of NJ Discover, Jim Driscoll of Fox5 News, Rickie Gaffney of ABC’s The Chew, and Marilyn Rocky, one of the department’s first graduates. The Council Emeriti members include Tom Bernard, Thomas D. Carver, Elizabeth Christopherson, Linda Deutsch (’65), Joe Fisher, Herbert W. McCord, Gloria and Norma Monty, Jules L. Plangere, Jr. (HN ’86), and Al Shapiro (’65).

Mulvaney’s success – and a burning desire to incorporate new technologies into the marketing practice — led him to create CMDS in 2002. He has since done work for Fortune 100 companies including Sony, Astra Zeneca, Schering, Johnson & Johnson, and LG. In the process, Chris has been able to provide his clients with a significant competitive sales advantage through the use of conversion architecture and other lead-conversation techniques that engage audiences on an emotional level.

Chris’ specific areas of experience include online marketing, branding, website design, organic search, paid search (PPC Management), mobile application development and business-process consulting. His team is known for tackling complex projects and streamlining process through technology in a way that is highly usable and satisfying to the end user.
